No more scheming resort guests, scenic chaos or the all-star cast (shoutout to Aimee Lou Wood, Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Sam Nivola, Walton Goggins—you get the idea). But in my post-Lotus scroll spiral, I stumbled on a surprising blast from the past involving one of the show’s newest stars and a pop queen I’ve loved since her Nickelodeon days: Patrick Schwarzenegger and Ariana Grande.
Yep, before Patrick was stirring things up as finance bro Saxon, he was starring as the romantic lead in Ariana Grande’s 2013 music video for “Right There” (feat. Big Sean). In the video, he plays Romeo to Ariana’s Juliet, showing up at a masquerade ball and locking eyes with her as she sings from a balcony. Later, there’s synchronized swimming, hand-kissing, fan-flirting and a maybe-kiss under water. Peak early 2010s pop video vibes.
“Some of my finest work,” Patrick joked in a repost on X.
Back in March, he reflected on the moemnt in an interview with Today, explaining, “That was one of my first things that I had done.”
“I remember being so nervous,“ he continued. „I’d never done a music video, I’ve never done one since. We had a really great time filming that. It’s awesome to see where her career has gone.”
And his career hasn’t slowed down either. Since that music video cameo, Patrick’s racked up a string of roles in projects like Scream Queens, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Gen V and The Staircase. According to IMDb, he’s next set to appear in Billy Knight, alongside none other than Al Pacino and Sara Sampaio.
Looks like that dreamy music video moment was just the beginning for both of them.
