Beth Gibbons has shared an intense Tiny Desk performance.
The British songwriter is a modern great, and the Portishead auteur released thrilling solo record ‘Lives Outgrown’ last year.
Set to play Glastonbury this summer, Beth Gibbons will play a special warm-up show at London’s Roundhouse on June 27th.

Recently making her way across North America, Beth Gibbons stopped past NPR to record a Tiny Desk session. Backed by her current live band, the ensemble moved through three songs from ‘Lives Outgrown’ – ‘Tell Me Who You Are Today’, ‘Floating On A Moment’ and ‘Reaching Out’ – as well as ‘Mysteries’, the opening track from her 2002 collaborative record with Rustin Man, ‘Out Of Season’.
A forceful, intimate, a times shockingly intense performance, the material has a flexibility that allows the performances to step outside of the record.
Beth Gibbons is backed by Eoin Rooney (guitars, marching snare, backing vocals), Tom Herbert (bass, Fender VI, backing vocals), Sophie Hastings(drums, harmonium, backing vocals), Howard Jacobs (contrabass clarinet, vibraphone, timpani, baritone sax, flute, bombo, percussion, hammered guitar, backing vocals), Emma Smith (violin, clarinet, guitar, backing vocals), Richard Jones (viola, guitar, backing vocals), and Jason Hazeley (keyboards, Fender Rhodes, Therevox).
