Victoria Justice has revisited the online „death threats“ she received as a former Disney star.
The former Victorious star reflected on „a time… where I felt like people hated me“ in a new interview for Mythical Kitchen’s YouTube series, My Last Meal.
„There was a time for so long on the Internet where I felt like people hated me,“ Victoria, 32, told host Josh Scherer. „It was a thing. It (the internet) can really be a ruthless place and, like, mob mentality is such a real thing.“
The problems began, Victoria recalled, when a video of her from her teen years resurfaced when she „was way into my 20s“ and went viral.
The video featured Victoria and her Victorious co-stars talking about how Ariana Grande often sang on the set of the show, with Victoria then heard declaring, „I think we all sing.“
„I think the media outlet that put it out, put this whole spin on it,“ the entertainer reflected this week.
„It must have been a really slow news day for them because I swear to God, I… suddenly got all this hate and I’m like, What did I do!?“
Victoria added she was worried for her life at one point and her mother was „freaking out“ about the sudden influx of online hate.
„I go so much hate,“ she said. „I got death threats.“
