Thomas Rhett isn’t just kicking off a tour this summer—he’s launching a season-long victory lap, one sun-soaked banger at a time.
The country superstar just dropped three fresh tracks today—“Small Town Girls” (featuring rising tourmate Tucker Wetmore), the smooth-talking “I’m That Guy,” and the retro-glam groove bomb “Dance With You”—as part of a surprise expansion of his acclaimed seventh album About a Woman. Officially dubbed About a Woman (From a Small Town), the re-release marks the beginning of what Rhett calls “a dream summer”—complete with new music, surprise collabs, and a nationwide tour that’s already built for backroad legends and amphitheater anthems.
“I’ve always wanted to just keep putting music out without waiting for the next album cycle,” Rhett says. “We had over 30 songs in the running for About a Woman, and these three are just a taste of what didn’t make the original cut but absolutely still deserve to be heard. They’re fun, they’re feel-good, and they’re built for summer.”
Let’s be clear: Rhett didn’t just clean out the vault—he chose heat. “Small Town Girls,” a loping, R&B-meets-country groove, shines with the addition of Tucker Wetmore’s rich baritone, the duo swapping lines like old friends at a county fair. It’s the kind of windows-down, heart-half-full track tailor-made for outdoor stages. “I’m That Guy” slides in with a sly grin and a rootsy bounce, while “Dance With You” turns the dial up with steel guitar, glittery synths, and a disco twang that somehow makes sense—and slaps.
This isn’t a man treading water. This is an artist deep into his comfort zone and still trying new tricks.
The timing couldn’t be better. Rhett’s BETTER IN BOOTS TOUR kicks off June 5, and it’s shaping up to be more than a roadshow—it’s a traveling summer party with a honky-tonk heartbeat. With Wetmore in tow and guests like The Castellows, Dasha, and genre-blending powerhouse Teddy Swims joining in at select dates (including a special stop at Boston’s iconic Fenway Park), Rhett’s setlists will now come armed with new material that feels custom-built for a live crowd.
It’s not just about hits—though Rhett has 23 No. 1s and 16 billion streams to his name—it’s about mood, connection, and pacing a set where country ballads, pop hooks, and stadium-sized grooves all have a place.
And he’s just getting started.
With more songs promised “throughout the summer,” About a Woman might not be a finished album so much as a living playlist—one that mirrors Rhett’s freewheeling energy and his refusal to sit still. From his crossover collabs to his tequila empire (Dos Primos now offers Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo, naturally), Rhett has built a career on evolving without abandoning what made him country’s most reliable hitmaker in the first place: his charm, his voice, and his relentless need to keep it fresh.
This summer, he’s bringing all three on the road—with his boots on, of course.
