Chris Brown's fans are questioning the fate of his upcoming world tour after the R&B singer was arrested in the UK following an alleged "unprovoked attack" in a nightclub.
On Thursday, May 16, the 36-year-old singer was arrested at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, according to reports by The Sun. Detectives informed the news outlet that Brown was brought in for questioning at a local police station, where he is still in custody, for "suspicion of grievous bodily harm."
Brown's arrest comes as music producer Abe Diaw claimed the singer launched an "unprovoked" attack on him in 2023 at a club in Central London, where he reportedly "smashed" him over the head with a bottle repeatedly. And now that Brown is entangled in legal troubles, fans are wondering how this will impact his upcoming Breezy Bowl XX world tour, which is set to kick off June 8.
In a newly posted Reddit thread, fans discussed the future of his tour and condemned the singer for his alleged actions. After hearing the news, one person asked: "Surely his tour won’t be going ahead in the uk this summer?" To which someone else replied: "Nah he will just pay a bunch of money and be ok."
Another hilariously referencing Justin Timberlake's DUI arrest last year, wrote: "This is going to ruin the tour? What tour? The world tour."
Speaking on the possibility of the tour cancellation, another user wrote: "I'd feel sorry for the fans who miss out on seeing him, but at this stage if anyone is a fan of Chris Brown, they're an irredeemable piece of s—."
Which someone countered with: "I don't feel bad. Glad their money got wasted, supporting a domestic abuser." And another questioned: "What kind of person would go to see him on tour?"
Bringing up his criminal past, someone else added: "He's been arrested pretty much every single year for violent behaviour since his attack on Rihanna in 2009."
To which another critic replied: "That level of consistency is unnerving. It means his impulse control is nonexistent. Diddy flew under the radar for so long because he was at least originally quite calculating. Chris Brown has no safe waking hours. And he was still… somehow on a world tour."
The singer's global tour is in celebration of the 20th anniversary of his self-titled debut album and will span across North America and Europe stopping in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and stops across the United Kingdom. After completing the European leg of his tour, Brown is set to return to America later this summer, where he will be joined by special musical guests Bryson Tiller and Summer Walker.
