Watch Neil Young debut new song and perform ‘Ordinary People’ for first time in 36 years – Far Out Magazine

Neil Young performed a new song called ‘Let’s Roll Again’ and his classic song ‘Ordinary People’, which he hadn’t sung live in some 36 years, at a charity concert on April 26th.
The singer appeared at the Autism Speaks Light Up The Blues 7 show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, where he continued his recent trajectory of performing hits from his extensive archives that, in many cases, hadn’t been heard in decades.
For the part of ‘Ordinary People’, Young hadn’t performed the song on stage since 1989, following on from when the 18-minute epic was first recorded the previous year, although it was later released as part of his album Chrome Dreams II in 2007.
Young is set to embark on a world tour this summer, and has also recently finished production on a new album with his band Chrome Hearts, which is presumably where his new song ‘Let’s Roll Again’ is taken from.
Elsewhere in his set at the charity concert, Young was joined on stage by former bandmate Stephen Stills, who performed the tunes ‘Human Highway’ and ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ with him.
Earlier in the night, Young had also taken to the stage during Stills’ set to play the Buffalo Springfield classic hit ‘For What It’s Worth’, which the pair had previously performed at the former’s ‘Harvest Moon: A Gathering’ celebration charity concert in October last year.
Young has also recently been outspoken on a range of political issues, blasting US president Donald Trump’s plans for his native Canada and writing an open letter to the country’s prime minister, Mark Carney, saying, “You are the person our country needs.”
