Kicking things off, Sony’s spatial audio technology, 360 Reality Audio, will be integrated directly into the BandLab app, allowing millions of users worldwide—either pros or casual creators— to experience and create music in spatial audio, using just a smartphone and a standard pair of headphones.

Starting this summer, BandLab users will gain access to a unique collection of beats, specially optimised for spatial audio through BandLab Sounds. These beats can be effortlessly transformed into full musical productions in BandLab Studio, where users can add vocals, instruments, and other elements to craft immersive, creative experiences using 360 Reality Audio.

In future development stages, Sony and BandLab are also set to launch a new creative space—a dedicated hub within the BandLab app. This hub will offer intuitive creative tools and exclusive access to cutting-edge educational programmes, supporting artists at every step of their musical journey. At the same time, the partnership creates a powerful platform to highlight BandLab artists’ success stories, helping them reach a global audience and expand their impact.
