Listen to Yungblud’s unapologetic new single ‘Lovesick Lullaby’ – NME

„Making this song was a fucking party“
Yungblud has released a brand-new single called ‘Lovesick Lullaby’ – you can listen to it below.
The Doncaster singer-songwriter (real name Dominic Harrison) debuted the song during an intimate gig at London’s Scala last month, after sharing his epic, nine-minute track ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’.
Today (April 25), he’s returned with the studio version of what is described as a “brazen, uptempo anthem”. Speaking about the unapologetic ‘Lovesick Lullaby’, Harrision explained: “Making this song was a fucking party and you can hear that on the recording.”
He continued: “[I tried to] let my subconscious do a lot of the talking and then make sense of my words the following afternoon in a kitchen, hungover, eating fish and chips with a cup of tea.
“I’ve been on a journey trying to find meaning in different places all over the world, for which I am forever grateful, but it felt as though my feet left the ground a little too much and I had to bring myself back… to British music, to British art and culture.”
Tune in here:

An official video for the single is set to arrive at 4pm BST today. The clip sees a Burberry-clad Yungblud in the back of a Mini Cooper before heading to a party at a raucous, packed-out pub.
It contains numerous pop culture references, with Yungblud posing in an armchair while he is blasted by the force of the speaker. Check out the premiere link above.
Yungblud recently spoken about his upcoming Britpop-inspired upcoming new album, saying he had “never felt more clear or been more proud to stand by anything” he has made.
Last December, the musician spoke to NME and shared more details about his projects in the works – exclusively announcing that he had a “double album” on the way.
He said: “The new album centres around the idea of self-love and self-reclamation that allows people to feel seen, and emit this light. You can be seen for who you truly are, no matter where you’re from or what you believe… That’s what I needed to write an album about.”

In March 2024, Yungblud talked to NME about his next LP, calling it Britpop-inspired. He cited the likes of OasisThe VervePrimal ScreamMy Chemical RomanceDavid Bowie and Madonna as inspirations.
Harrison noted that the mantra of the record would be “Come together, look each other in the eye, be human”, as opposed saying “Fuck you, this is the world we’ve got to get to”.
The world’s defining voice in music and pop culture: breaking what’s new and what’s next since 1952.
