Deezer is launching new features to make its music experience more personalized. These latest features are part of the platform’s ongoing push to stand out from other streaming platforms by focusing on personalization and connectivity.
“At Deezer, we are constantly innovating to offer the most personalized and customizable music experience on the market. The new features we’re introducing today give users more control over their algorithm, greater flexibility to personalize their experience, and easy ways to share content with their friends, even beyond Deezer. We want to keep surprising fans with new and engaging ways to experience music.”
Let’s break down what’s new:
Launching in April, Deezer is putting users in full control of their recommendation algorithm. While competitors offer dislike or hide features to reduce certain songs from being suggested, Deezer is taking this a step further by completely removing specific tracks, artists, albums, or playlists from their recommendations. This feature will live in the “Manage My Recommendations” section, giving listeners unprecedented control over what the algorithm serves them.
Deezer users will soon be able to further personalize their experience. Coming in May, users can customize playlist covers and reorganize the Favorites tab for quicker access to preferred content.
Building on the success of My Deezer Year, which saw a 30% increase in engagement at the start of 2025, the platform is launching My Deezer Month. Starting in May, users will get monthly insights into their listening habits, including top songs, artists, genres, and listening activity. These recaps will be easily shareable, offering listeners another way to express their music tastes. With Apple Music launching monthly Replay last year, it will be interesting to see if Deezer can capture the same level of popularity.
Rolling out in late April, Deezer’s universal sharing feature allows users to share a track using a universal link. When someone receives the link, they’re taken to a Deezer landing page with options to open the song on various platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. This means listeners can easily share music with friends, regardless of the streaming service they use- even if they’re not on Deezer.
With these updates, Deezer is reinforcing its commitment to improve the music streaming experience for its listeners.
