Georgetown Heritage and the Georgetown BID are partnering with the Embassy of France – Villa Albertine to host our second annual Fête de la Musique – World Music Day on Saturday, June 21. Every year, over 1,000 cities worldwide celebrate the summer solstice with citywide music events. It all began 40+ years ago in France when the Ministry of Culture envisioned a day where free, live music would fill the streets. This year we invite singers, church choirs, jazz combos, rock bands, glee clubs, MCs, marching bands, mariachis, and musicians of all genres, ages, and skill levels to apply to perform in our second edition in Georgetown. Performances will be from 3-7pm at various locations throughout Georgetown’s commercial district and from 6-10pm on the three stages at the French Embassy’s La Maison Française.
