American rock legend Bruce Springsteen has brought thousands of fans flocking to Manchester to see him perform at Co-op Live over the past week – and the superstar has also been investing in the local economy while he's been here in the city.
For the Born to Run star and his crew have booked out the ENTIRE 40-room five star Stock Exchange Hotel to enjoy his stay with his band – with rooms that in total cost over £23,000 a night to book.
He's been spied on daily walkabouts around the city centre, sampling some of the shops as well as the dazzling spring sunshine that Manchester is enjoying.
And his wider team have also been spotted heading to enjoy some of the nightlife in the city, including at the Black Cat Club on nearby Brown Street, partaking of the games at the venue like darts and shuffleboard, as well as heading to the iconic Band on the Wall live music venue on Swan Street.
Glory Days star Bruce was first spotted in Manchester last weekend at the Grade II-listed Stock Exchange Hotel on Norfolk Street in the city centre.
He arrived here early to rehearse for the opening night of his summer tour here at Co-op Live with his full live band.
It has meant for an extended stay in Manchester for the Dancing in the Dark icon and his crew.
The MEN understands the Springsteen camp have enjoyed an exclusive takeover of the Stock Exchange Hotel, which is co-owned by Bruce superfan Gary Neville.
The hotel has become a hotspot for visiting celebrities due to its boutique size, making it perfect for a private use booking – with Queen of Pop Madonna previously doing the same when she was in the city to rehearse for her world tour in 2023.
It's not known what deal has been struck for Bruce's ten-day stay at the hotel, but the cost of booking out all 40 rooms at the Stock Exchange would cost £23,350 A NIGHT based on the room's regular rates.
Swanky rooms at the stylish hotel, based inside Manchester's former Stock Exchange building, include the £4,000 a night penthouse, the Boardroom Suite at £2,000 a night, while other suites sell from £750 – £1,500 a night. Classic king rooms are priced from £350 a night.
Based on those figures, ten nights at the venue could cost up to a mammoth £233,500 for all the rooms.
Bruce was spotted by fans sunbathing on the terrace of one of the luxury rooms inside the hotel at the weekend, enjoying the wall-to-wall sunshine Manchester has boasted this month.
He has also been making the time to meet his superfans who have assembled outside the city centre hotel to sign autographs and pose for pictures over the past 10 days.
He has been spotted leaving for daily strolls with his entourage, including a trip to visit city centre shops Marks & Spencer and Selfridges just down the road from the hotel on Exchange Square.
We've also heard he headed to enjoy a stroll in Manchester's magnificent Heaton Park too.
While he's not yet been pictured enjoying any of Manchester's award-winning restaurants and bars, we do know he headed over the border to Yorkshire to enjoy a meal out with his showbiz pal, actor Stephen Graham last week in Huddersfield.
He took time out from his run of concerts in Manchester to dine with the Liverpool actor who is due to play his dad in an upcoming biopic.
The Boss popped over to meet up with Adolescence star Stephen at Normans Restaurant in Kirkburton, Huddersfield.
The restaurant wrote: "Absolutely honoured to have these two absolute legends over for a spot of lunch @stephengraham1973 @springsteen. Can think of worst ways to start the weekend!"
Graham plays Springsteen's father Douglas 'Dutch' Springsteen in the biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White in the lead role, due for release next year.
Bruce has also been spotted heading for a day out in Liverpool, ahead of his big shows there at Anfield on June 4 and June 7.
Although after he mentioned the day trip at his Manchester gig on Saturday night, he faced a chorus of boos from Mancs unimpressed with the shoutout for their local rivals.
The rock legend performs the last of his three Manchester shows at Co-op Live on Tuesday night, with yet another sold out show to his adoring fans.
