Trisha Yearwood’s New Album is a First for Her – EntertainmentNow

Trisha Yearwood is about to do something she’s never done before.
When she releases her album “The Mirror” on July 18, it will be her first where she co-wrote and co-produced every single track.
During an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Yearwood said, “I’ve always kind of hidden behind music like ‘this song’s really personal, but I didn’t write it.’ Well, I don’t have, I can’t say that about these songs, so performing some of them made me just really emotional.”
In an Instagram post celebrating her big news, Trisha writes the album title in pink lipstick on a mirror. In the caption, she writes, “My first fully co-written and co-produced album, “The Mirror” will be yours on July 18th. This is a new chapter for me and one I cannot wait to share with you, so two songs are dropping tomorrow to give you a taste of what’s to come. I am so proud of this record and hope you love it as much as I loved creating it. xoxo”

It’s been nearly six years since Trisha Yearwood’s last studio album.
While the full album won’t drop until July 18, Yearwood will release two songs May 2- “The Wall Or The Way Over” and “Bringing The Angels.”
The singer performed “Bringing the Angels” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on March 24.
The new album is part of a new chapter for the singer. Yearwood has brought her own label, “Gwendolyn Records” under the umbrella of the Music Corporation of America’s catalog, in partnership with Virgin Music Group.
“I’m honored to join forces with Virgin Music Group as I embark on this exciting new chapter,” she said in a statement. “Bringing my Gwendolyn label into the MCA/Universal family truly feels like coming home. I can’t wait to share my new album, ‘The Mirror.’ Creating this music has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.”
“Trisha is one of the beloved artists in Nashville,” said Jen Bontusa, Virgin’s Senior Vice President of Label Management based in Nashville. “It’s been amazing working with her and her team so far and we’re looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”

In addition to the long-awaited new album, Trisha Yearwood will also return to touring this year.
Yearwood teased her return to the stage with a funny Instagram video showing a duster dusting off bejewelled microphones with audio of a man saying “we are back baby, we are BAAACCKKK!”
So far, she’s only released tour dates through May 17, with the exception of two performances with the Nashville Symphony December 2 and 3. You can find tour dates and tickets here.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” was not the only spot where Yearwood has previewed her upcoming album.
She performed at the famed Troubadour in Los Angeles when she was in the city to receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Yearwood also took the stage at the Tin Pan South Songwriter’s Festival in Nashville in March.
She sang songs from the album at Nashville’s famed BlueBird Cafe several months ago. She also sang with Rebecca Lynn Howard at Nashville’s Listening Room in late April.
60-year-old Yearwood says this new chapter represents a sweet new phase of her life. “Being old enough where I don’t feel any pressure to be anything other than who I am is such a wonderful feeling. Being able to focus on songwriting developed into a new passion and priority (in my life and career) that fits into my life,” Yearwood said, during an interview with the Nashville newspaper “The Tennessean.”
