The Weeknd has signed with WME in all areas, the agency confirmed on Thursday, with the superstar returning to the company after departing for CAA back in 2021.
WME signed the Canadian superstar, born Abel Tesfaye, on the heels of his massive North American stadium tour that’s slated to kick off in Glendale, Arizona, on May 9 at State Farm Stadium. That tour will also feature Playboi Carti, whose third album Music is one of the biggest albums of the year so far. Also joining as a special guest is super producer Mike Dean, a longtime Weeknd collaborator. The tour will take them through much of the U.S. and Canada before wrapping in San Antonio in September.

WME also represents Tesfaye’s production company Manic Phase.
Tesfaye remains one of the music industry’s biggest stars, amassing 116 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and he’s the artist with the most songs with a billion streams on the platform. He released his sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, back in January. That album topped Billboard’s albums chart, debuting with 490,500 units sold.
In May, Lionsgate is set to release the film Hurry Up Tomorrow, a companion to the album. The film stars Tesfaye along with Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, while Trey Edward Shults directed the project. It was produced by Manic Phase along with Reza Fahim, Harrison Kreiss and Kevin Turen, who died in 2023. Executive producer credits are Ortega, Shults, Ryan Kroft, Harrison Huffman, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, and Weeknd manager Wassim “Sal” Slaiby.
Elsewhere in the film and TV world, Tesfaye appeared in Uncut Gems back in 2019, and he co-created and co-starred in HBO’s The Idol opposite Lily-Rose Depp.
