It’ll be their first release since founding member Seunghan left the group
RIIZE have dropped a trailer for their upcoming first studio album titled ‘Odyssey’, due out in May.
The teaser, which was released today (April 28) by the boyband on their YouTube channel, revealed both the name and release date for their forthcoming record, titled ‘Odyssey’. The near-minute-long teaser features an intense montage of both live-action and animated clips set against the backdrop of high-octane classical music.
Due out May 19, ‘Odyssey’ is slated to feature 10 brand-new tracks. The trailer also announced the ‘RIIZE Premiere’, an event where fans will be able to watch video previews of all the new tracks on ‘Odyssey’ a few days ahead of its official release. Further detail about the album, including its tracklist, will be announced in the coming weeks.
The upcoming album will also be RIIZE’s first release since founding member Seunghan left the group in October last year. His departure occurred only two days after Seunghan and SM Entertainment faced backlash after the latter announced his return to RIIZE following a year-long hiatus.
Shortly after, a number of K-pop retailers across the globe halted restocks of RIIZE merchandise “out of respect for our customers, fans, and the artist”. Although the label did not heed fans’ requests to add Seunghan back to the band, they announced he would debut as a soloist sometime this year.
RIIZE are also set to participate in the SMTOWN Live 2025 international tour, in celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary. The band will be performing alongside labelmates aespa, SHINee’s Minho and Key, Hearts2Hearts and more at the tour’s stops in Mexico City, Tokyo, Los Angeles and London this summer.
