Novation, a longstanding pillar in the world of music production gear, has once again raised the bar. Known for building instruments that bridge the gap between creativity and technology, the U.K.-based company has announced not one, but three new hardware releases aimed at producers, performers, and electronic musicians of every stripe.
Whether you’re working entirely in-the-box, building a hardware-focused setup, or balancing somewhere in between, Novation’s latest gear is designed to meet you where you are—and push you further.
First up is the next generation of the Launch Control XL, Novation’s beloved controller that’s long been a favorite for hands-on DAW control. The refreshed version promises an even more intuitive experience. According to a statement from the company, the new Launch Control XL offers “precise, tactile control over production, mixing, and performance.”
With an updated layout and workflow-focused enhancements, it’s built for those who want more physical connection to their digital environments—an increasingly important factor in hybrid and live setups.
Next, the Launchkey gets an elegant refresh. Available in both 49 full-size keys and 37 mini keys, this latest model blends performance-ready features with studio versatility. It’s wrapped in a new white-and-grey colorway, a clean look that matches its refined build.
The company notes that this new edition delivers “everything you’ve come to expect from our best-ever Launchkey,” including “deep DAW control, powerful on-board creative tools, and a re-engineered design that feels like an instrument.” In other words, it’s more than just a MIDI keyboard, it’s a creative partner.
Rounding out the lineup is a reimagining of the Bass Station II, a synth that has earned its place as a modern classic since its 2013 release. Known for its “deep capability, raw character, and unbeatable value,” the Bass Station II now returns in an ultra-limited edition created in collaboration with renowned British designer Ian “Swifty” Swift.
This version brings “underground attitude” to a synth that’s long been a driving force in electronic music. Visually bold and built to inspire, it combines the sonic power of the original with a distinct new design ethos.
