PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — WholeNote, a music-tech startup, won top honors at Sprocket’s West Kentucky Innovation Challenge Pitch Competition, taking home a $1,000 grand prize.
Co-founders Shanden Simmons and Callon Nanny impressed judges and the crowd with their platform that automates royalty collection, distribution and promotion for independent musicians.
Four local startups competed in the event, held at Maiden Alley Cinema. WholeNote was recognized for identifying a clear market need and developing a solution to address it.
Santerre International won the People’s Choice Award for its sustainable approach to turning invasive Asian carp into organic fertilizer.
