SANDPOINT — Students at the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint will raise money for the organization’s annual scholarship fund Friday, April 18, with Music Marathon — a noon event in which students playing a variety of instruments will perform songs of their choice and compete among themselves.
“The goal is to keep the music playing as long as possible,” said Kathi Samuels, MCS development director. “This event is less of a formal performance and more of a fun community engagement and student-led event.”
Supporters can offer a single contribution or choose to donate based on the number of minutes a student continues playing.
The conservatory’s Honors/Pre-honors students will compete against its Merit students to see which groups raises the most funds. The winning team will get an ice cream sundae party.
The initiative is part of the ongoing Live Give 7B fundraising drive.
