The St. James Episcopal Church Chamber Music Society continues its tradition of exceptional public performances with a special concert on Sunday, May 4 at 4 p.m., featuring Mozart’s “Gran Partita”—a 1791 serenade written for 13 wind instruments and a double bass.
The concert, held at St. James Episcopal Church (581 Valley Road, Montclair), brings together 14 prominent musicians from the region. Among them are Grammy Award-winning oboist Randall Wolfgang, a longtime member of the New York City Ballet Orchestra, and Kim Laskowski, associate principal bassoonist for the New York Philharmonic and instructor at The Juilliard School.
Additional performers of “Gran Partita” include musicians with extensive experience in the New York Philharmonic, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, international ensembles, and Broadway productions, making this an extraordinary opportunity to experience Mozart’s work as he intended, in an intimate local setting.
