Lorde announces new song ‘What Was That’ – GMA Network

Lorde is all set to enter her newest era.
On Instagram and TikTok, the artist posted a portrait of herself in a red top and braided hair. Her face was splashed with water.
“My new song ‘What Was That.’ Out soon,” Lorde wrote in her caption.
Olivia Rodrigo, Caroline Polachek, and Marina Diamandis were among those excited for Lorde’s comeback in the comments section, while some fans declared a Lorde Summer.
Lorde previously teased the song in a TikTok video, showing herself walking while the track played in the background.
Lorde is best known for the hit songs “Royals,” “Ribs,” and “Supercut,” among others.
Her last album, “Solar Power,” was released in 2021. Her other albums are “Pure Heroine” from 2013 and “Melodrama” from 2017.
In 2024, she was part of the remix of Charli xcx’s song, “Girl, so confusing,” and was a surprise guest during the latter’s Coachella set.
