Live Music Industry News: Reliant, Dynamic & Folk Alliance – Hypebot

In the latest live music industry news, Reliant Talent Agency has hired veteran talent agent, Scott Simpson, as Head of Talent. Established as a live music touring agency, Simpson will lead Reliant’s efforts in Talent, Comedy and Unscripted Television.

Joining Simpson is agent Jonathan Perry, who will lead West Coast Talent (formerly IAG, UTA) alongside talent agent, Katie Edwards (formerly of IAG). Melanie Moreau (former network/production company executive) will lead the Unscripted Department.
Reliant President Steve Lassiter and his partners, Heath Baumhor and Matt McGuire, will continue to lead the Nashville based agency. This updated infrastructure gives the agency outposts in Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, and Tampa.
Dynamic Talent International announced its expansion with the opening of a new office in the heart of Downtown Nashville. Located at 401 Commerce Street, the new Music City office joins Dynamic’s existing offices in Sacramento, New York, Los Angeles, and Poland.
Along with the new office, Dynamic announced the hiring of Nashville-based agent Robert Baugh, who will collaborate with the agency’s existing agent team, including Jamie Leslie, Jordan Cocklin, Jake Hawkins, Adam Easterling, and Jordyn Rothman.
Folk Alliance International has opened applications for Official Showcase Artists thru June 6, 2025. Showcases will take place at the 38th annual conference January 21-25 in New Orleans. Application link: https://www.folk.org/conference/official-showcases
FAI also announced Official Showcase Artist Scholarships as a pilot program, with a $50,000 fund to help cover travel, lodging, and registration costs. It is based on financial need, the artist must be an FAI member. Applications will open in August and be due September 5, 2025.
