Friends, family, and supporters of Carly Humphrey are coming together for a benefit concert on Saturday, May 17, in hopes of easing the financial burden of her ongoing cancer treatment.
The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Beer Barn, located at 225 E. New Bern Road, Suite J. The fundraiser will feature live entertainment from AFREYED KNOT and other musical guests to be announced. Attendees can also take part in raffles, including a 50/50 drawing and the chance to win a 65-inch television and other prizes.
Humphrey, a beloved member of the community, was diagnosed in January with Stage IV cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer. Despite the difficult diagnosis, she has remained hopeful and is currently exploring treatment options and second opinions.
“While this cancer is labeled as ‘incurable,’ I am certain that God has a successful plan for my life,” Humphrey shared in a recent statement. “I miss work, my day-to-day life, and the freedom that comes with good health, but I am focused on pushing forward to beat this.”
Organizers say the benefit is both a celebration of Humphrey’s strength and a means to show solidarity during her health battle. Additional benefit planning meetings are scheduled ahead of the event, with volunteers and contributions welcome.
Proceeds from the benefit will go directly to support Carly Humphrey’s treatment and related expenses. Organizers encourage the public to come out, enjoy live music, and help make a difference.
