Comedian and actor Woli Arole has identified “hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism” as major concerns in the gospel music industry.
He lamented invitations for ministration are now based on personal connections rather than spiritual leading, making it difficult to distinguish between gospel music ministers and secular artists.

Woli Arole highlighted the growing commercialisation of gospel music.
He said many gospel artists have adopted celebrity lifestyles, blending gospel with secular music elements, which has led to a blurring of lines between ministers and entertainers.
He wrote: “The level of hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism in the gospel music industry in Nigeria is alarming. Oh yes! Invitations are based on who you know, not as the Spirit leads. Music ministers too—we can’t differentiate whether you’re a performer or a minister. It’s well”.
