Fulwood based band, Tuesday Night Whites perform their music to towns and cities across the UK
Tuesday Night Whites consists of five friends from Preston, Ollie Holden on vocals, Jack Pomfret rhythm guitar, Nathan Duckworth lead guitar, Chris Seed on bass and Harrison Botes on drums.
Jack and Ollie had known each other since they were two years old. Jack said: “We’re all local lads from Preston. Me and Ollie have grown up together, and when I say grown up together, I mean from the age of two.
“Our drummer, Harrison went to the same school as us. Our bass player, Chris, I met through going to watch North End and then Chris met our lead guitarist, Nathan at Leeds Fest.”
The idea for the band started in lockdown, Jack said: “We were bored, as we all were, and we just thought should we just give it a crack playing some songs. So, we got together and played some covers, and we just fell in love with it straight away.”
Their first gig was at Crafty Beggars, a micropub in Fulwood, where they got invited down to play on a Sunday afternoon.
Jack said: “We absolutely loved it, loads of our mates came down, it was quality, and we just thought, this is amazing, so we carried on and eventually it turned into what it is now with the band and getting out and about in the UK.”
When coming up with the name Tuesday Night Whites, they wanted it to tie in with their Preston roots.
Jack said: “We wanted the name to have ties with Preston, but we didn’t want to name Preston or anything obvious.
“We started running ideas off each other, we started with street names, like where me and Ollie grew up, but nothing sat right with us.
“Obviously I met Chris through North End and Ollie and Harrison support North End, so the name is to do with North End but it’s also a common shared interest between all of us and it’s tying back to our Preston roots.”

The band have played gigs across the country from Edinburgh to Leeds and even London.
Ollie said: “It’s such an unbelievable experience getting out into different cities. We’ve pretty much done the length of the country which is bonkers if you think where it started just in Fulwood.
“It’s been amazing just getting in the van and it’s just like going away with your mates every weekend, playing music and meeting new people.”
The band have recently come back to their roots in Preston and performed a gig at The Continental.
Jack said: “We put the tickets up for sale and at the time we were doing a gig in Derby and before the show, we recorded a video saying limited tickets to post on social media and then as we were about to post it we got an email saying it was sold out.
“That’s how quickly they went so it’s just incredible and we can’t thank people enough for buying tickets and coming to see us.”
Tuesday Night Whites are hoping to venture beyond the Northwest for their future gigs with hopes to meet new people and new bands.
