Faroe Islands: KvF to broadcast Eurovision 2025 in Basel! – eurovisionfun.com

The national broadcaster of the Faroe Islands, KvF, is going to broadcast this year’s Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
The Eurovision Song Contest returns this year to the television sets of the popoulation of the North Atlantic archipelago, through their national broadcaster KvF (Kringvarp Føroya).
The sending of a team to the contest this year is not just a coincidence as there is immediate interest, and specifically concerns this year’s representative of Denmark, Sissal, who comes from the Faroe Islands.
This will be the second time that an artist from the Faroe Islands will take to the Eurovision stage. The first was in 2023, when Denmark’s representative, Reiley, hails from the island nation.
The Faroe Islands are one of the three constituent countries of the Kingdom of Denmark (the other two being Metropolitan Denmark and Greenland), which means that they are not a fully independent country and are therefore not a member of international organisations such as the United Nations and the European Broadcasting Union. However, the national broadcaster, KvF, has been trying in recent years to become a full member of the European Broadcasting Union so that the Faroe Islands can compete independently in Eurovision. In 2024, KvF commented that it would take five years to achieve this goal.
