DONIPHAN, Mo., (KBSI) — Doniphan High School (DHS) Choir students made a strong impression at the MSHSAA state music festival, earning top ratings in multiple events.
A total of 10 students participated in five small ensembles and five solo events, with every student receiving a Gold (Exemplary 1) rating in at least one event.
The five small ensembles all received Gold ratings, while two soloists earned Gold and three earned Silver (Outstanding 2) ratings.
The DHS Choir program extended its gratitude to accompanist Leonard Gladden and student accompanist Crockett Verkulien for their support.
The following students earned Gold ratings:
Lane Collins, senior (2 ensembles, 1 solo)
Ben Abrams, senior (2 ensembles)
Audrey Watson, junior (2 ensembles)
Emma Robinett, junior (2 ensembles)
Mya Maijala, junior (2 ensembles, 1 solo)
Alyssa Bennet, junior (2 ensembles)
Jolie Watkins, freshman (2 ensembles)
Tyler Thomas, freshman (2 ensembles)
Abi Nguyen, freshman (2 ensembles)
Silver ratings were earned by:
Anna Hawks, sophomore (1 solo)
Carter Brown, sophomore (1 solo)
Kerra Eddens, sophomore (1 solo)
