It looks like the World Series will get started with a little bit of a country music kick thanks to Brad Paisley.
The legendary country music singer was announced Thursday by Major League Baseball for a key role in Friday’s opener between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers.
“Dodgers superfan and country music star Brad Paisley will perform the National Anthem before Game 1 of the World Series tomorrow, October 25th,” the league wrote in a post on X.
The game is slated to begin at 8:08 p.m.
Paisley reposted the announcement and most fans seemed to love the news.
“Brad Paisley singing the anthem for Game 1?” one person responded. “Looks like the Dodgers are bringing both country and the heat to the World Series!”
“That is going to be a great moment,” another wrote.
“Awesome!” another wrote. “I love his music.”
Of course, “most” is not all.
“Never trust a man who doesn’t know how to do a burnout in a stick shift car,” another wrote. “Brad Paisley does not. Watch him on Jay Leno’s garage.”
“Brad Paisley is an underwhelming choice to perform the #nationalanthem for WS Game 1, but the performance should be great,” another wrote. “Missing the WOW factor.”
Time will tell if Paisley shines, but there will be plenty reason for country music fans to tune in.
