The UK rapper has led a long, winding career, with numerous projects and diversions; re-connecting with his foundations, ‘Grime Scene Saviour’ finds Chip owning his legacy, and pushing the sound forward a little.
The era launched last year with his all-star single ‘Grime Scene Saviours’, featuring just about every grime hero worth their salt. A subsequent London show was a roadblock, with Chip then teasing a full album.
Out now, ‘Grime Scene Saviour’ comes as a new sense of energy takes hold in the underground – perfectly timed, it offers 12 tracks of 140 shellers, moving from ‘Sexy Grime’ to something with a bit more bite.
