Black Honey will release new album ‘Soak’ on August 15th.
The UK indie group are back, recalibrating their creativity across the band’s fourth studio album. Black Honey’s first since 2023 release ‘A Fistful of Peaches’, ‘Soak’ finds the four-piece spinning the dials once more.
Infatuated with cinema, the incoming LP aims to conjure the strange eeriness of Stanley Kubrick, with main songwriter Izzy B. Phillips attempting to unpack a decade-long career within music.
New single ‘Dead’ kicks off their journey, and its unsettling image of body horror – “And you couldn’t decide to stab my back or my eyes / Oh no, I know what you like / Just press on the knife” – makes for a visceral return.
Izzy comments…
‘Soak’ is me processing a decade of touring and creating music and art as an addict. It’s me picking at the layers of messy, romantic, confusing, woozy, beautiful and fucked up things. Who I thought I was, who I was supposed to be and who looks back at me now are all so different but I’m kind of here for it.
Tune in now.
