DALLAS (KTVT) – A Texas teacher and her husband thought they were expecting twins, but when the babies were born, they found themselves welcoming triplets.
Whitney Carreras, a teacher in the Wylie Independent School District, and her husband, Tom Carreras, were overjoyed to learn they were expecting twins earlier this year.
The couple started prepping, buying baby supplies and even reading a book on twins, but a later checkup showed something different: they were actually expecting triplets.
“We’re sitting there with the [ultrasound] technician, and she goes, ‘OK, there’s one baby. There’s two babies. Oh, there’s three babies,’” Whitney Carreras said. “Me and Tom were like, ‘Are you sure? Last time you said it was two.’”
Whitney Carreras gave birth to three boys – Oliver, Caleb and Bennett – late last month at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
“We’re super excited to have kids. It just was a little bit faster of a timeline to reach that number than we were anticipating,” Tom Carreras said.
The family of five is reportedly happy and healthy.
