Rasika Ranjana Sabha’s annual Carnatic music competitions in vocal, violin, veena, mridangam and quiz will be held in June.
According to an official release, the contests will be held under sub-junior, juniorm and senior categories. Current students of music and upcoming professionals are eligible to apply from April. In the junior vocal category, 12 competitions featuring 12 composers, will be held. Apart from the first, second and third prizes, for each contest, the overall winner will be awarded the L.V. Memorial medal for 2025.
A total of 36 competitions will be held for senior category vocal contestants. The ‘Sangeetha Sri’ award will be conferred on the person who participates in 24 competitions, and quiz, and comes first overall.
Participants from other Sstates, except Puducherry, will be provided with accommodation during the competition.
Applications may be obtained by emailing rrsabha@gmail.com. May 23 is the last date for submission of completed forms. Candidates who pay the late fee can send their applications by May 30, said the release.
