Word of what Mudvayne has been working on in the studio has been lacking for a long. After a break of about 11 years, the progressive nu metal band was hesitant to fully commit to the concept of returning to the studio when they reunited in 2021. That attitude has gradually altered, though, as frontman Chad Gray said in October 2023 that the group had participated in some early demoing of their first new work since 2009, albeit with some difficulties. Now, Gray disclosed that the band’s plans for new music have advanced significantly in a SiriusXM Octane tape that was shot as part of a public Q&A at the “Welcome To Rockville” festival in Daytona Beach, Florida.

It is so real, and it is so beautiful, and it keeps me coming back, you guys keep me coming back, you guys keep me coming to the f*cking table. And we got new shit coming, so get ready motherf*ckers, it’s coming. Chad Gray
