Quavo continues his winning streak by dropping a brand-new collaboration with his late nephew TakeOff.

On Friday, May 2, the Atlanta native shared his new song "Dope Boy Phone" featuring Take. On the track produced by Buttah Bless, TakeOff opens the track with a previously unheard verse full of his signature fast-paced bars. Quavo follows suit with a slightly longer verse.

"Dope boy clone/Lookin‘ for a dope boy loan," TakeOff spits. "Lurkin‘ in a dope boy zone, I f**ked around and found a dope boy phone/F**k it, my n***a, we gone/We got the information that we need to know."
"Dope Boy Phone" is reportedly one of numerous recordings from TakeOff’s vault. In 2023, Quavo told Rolling Stone that his nephew had at least 1,000 unreleased tracks he stored across eight cellphones. It’s not clear if all of them will ever see the light of day. However, Quavo featured TakeOff on two songs, "Back Where It Begins" and "Patty Cake," for his last album Rocket Power.

“I want to keep his stuff very, very, very sacred right now,” Quavo said in 2023. “Something about Take’s verses right now is just like so ahead of his time. Every time, it’s like he just did it.”

TakeOff passed away in 2022 a couple of weeks after he and Quavo released their first collaborative album Only Built For Infinity Links. The Georgia rapper was fatally shot during a dispute outside of a bowling alley in downtown Houston. He was only 28.

Quavo’s latest single arrived several weeks after he dropped his collaboration with Lil Baby, "Legend," and his previous single "Trappa Rappa." The Migos rapper is preparing to release his next solo album sometime this year.
