Montreal-based punk group Taxi Girls shared the music video for “The Lion’s Share,” the B-side to their 2024 single “Rainy.” A raging punk anthem about redemption and overcoming a toxic person from your past, “The Lion’s Share” is a track that’s drenched in classic punk energy.
The song’s music video, directed by Loïcia Samson, is equally as raw and refreshing as the song itself. Regarding the inspiration behind the video, Samson said in an interview that, “‘The Lion’s Share’ video was inspired by a vintage punk aesthetic, reimagined with modern visuals and strong rhythm to match the song’s energy. I wanted natural shots of the band to capture their raw vibe, moving through neon-lit spaces like they owned them.”
This combination of past and present blends flawlessly with the song as it conveys the band reflecting on their lives and previous relationships.
