“I am going to sing through it,” John Driskell Hopkins recently told CBS News.
Hopkins, the longtime bassist, guitarist, vocalist and co-writer of the multiple Grammy-winning Zac Brown Band, announced in 2022 to fans that he was diagnosed with the terminal degenerative illness ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
However, the music plays on for him and his bandmates.
A new EP from Zac Brown Band, “No Wake Zone,” has recently arrived, as well as a new solo single from Hopkins himself, titled “Each Other.” The tender ballad reflects on what matters most.
Hopkins joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzzes to share more about his latest music, his awareness initiative, “Hop on a Cure,” and organizing efforts to help the ALS community.
