A new study has found that, based on the number of songs in her sets, Lana Del Rey charges the most per song when she performs live.
GIGACalculator has done the math by gathering a list of the most affluent artists and their tours in music today, compiling setlist figures found on setlist.fm, concert venues, ticket prices for US-based tours on Ticketmaster and StubHub, estimated ticket prices gathered by Statista, and calculated earnings by average venue capacity and estimated cost per song.
For example, the report found that Lana Del Rey charges the most per song ($16.02 USD) by performing 15 tracks in 83 minutes, meaning that she earns approximately four times more per song than Billie Eilish, despite having shorter setlists. For Bad Bunny, whose tickets cost roughly $464 in USD, he’s actually charging $10.31 per song for 45 songs.
Lady Gaga lands at #2 on the list. Her Mayhem Ball tour charges approximately $13.97 per song, with 23 songs spread across 130 minutes of epic production. Her tickets cost about $321 in the US.
Beyoncé, Oasis, and Charli XCX—with her Brat tour—join Lana Del Rey and Lady Gaga in the top five. The top ten includes Billie Eilish, Coldplay, country star Lainey Wilson, Sabrina Carpenter, and Bad Bunny.
With 32 songs across 150 minutes, Beyoncé charges approximately $13.63 per song. Their setlist hasn’t been revealed, but with an estimated 33 songs across 150 minutes, Oasis are predicted to come in fourth by reportedly charging $13.60 per song. Charli XCX charges an estimated $12.97 per song with her Brat arena tour. She’s in fifth place with an average of 73-minute sets and 20-song setlists, with the show performed in arena venues.
