AFTER an incredibly successful launch last year, Warrington’s Music Month is set to return to the town once again next month.
Led by Warrington BID, and supported by venues across the town centre, the month-long celebration brings live music stages, squares and spaces to Warrington.
Warrington Music Month was originally created in response to the absence of Neighbourhood Weekender, which had a hiatus last year, and to keep live music in the heart of the town.
Although the festival is returning next month, the campaign was so successful that it is being brought back again.
“We’re really proud to be bringing Warrington’s Music Month back for a second year,” said Andrea Morley, project manager at Warrington BID.
“The reaction last year was fantastic and showed there’s a real appetite for this kind of event in the town.
“This is all about celebrating the venues, promoters and musicians who shape the local music scene.
“From open-air stages to the pubs and bars hosting their own nights, we want the whole town to feel part of it.”

Time Square will host live music nights, including Soul and Motown Night which will feature Soul Station performing some of the genres most iconic songs.
Golden Square will join the celebration with A Night of Legends on May 4, which will see three of the UK’s top tribute acts take to the stage and playing hits throughout the night.
It won’t just be live music filling the town centre next month, with Warrington Food and Drink Festival set to make its debut on May 17 and 18.
The extremely popular Warrington Music Festival will return once again, bringing two days of free live music to outdoor stages across the town, showcasing some of the region’s best emerging talent.
Although Neighbourhood takes place outside the town centre, ay warm-gigs of post-festival events are being encouraged to share their plans and be included in the Music Month programme.
On June 1, the celebration of live music in Warrington will be brought to a close with Proms in the Square, which is returning for its third year.
“Warrington has a brilliant live music scene and we want to keep building on that,” said Cllr Tony Higgins, cabinet member for leisure and community at Warrington Borough Council.
“Music Month is a great opportunity to support local artists, drive footfall to the town centre and shine a light on the venues doing great work year-round.
“We’re pleased to be supporting Warrington BID again this year in making it all happen.”
