The best alternatives to Spotify: see what YouTube Music, SoundCloud, Tidal, and Deezer have to offer – Diario AS

Tech
Although Spotify is the most popular music streaming application, its recent fall is becoming a space to reflect on what other options we have to listen to our music. While we can go back in time and dust off those vinyl records or plug in our iPod again and listen to music like it is still 2008, the reality is that we are already used to on-demand music services. So today we are going to look at other options on the market, what they offer, and what they cost.
It’s easy to get lost in all the options Google has offered over the past few years, from locks to mixes. Now it’s all integrated into YouTube with YouTube Music. The service has a free tier where you can choose individual songs, with ads. On the one hand, the collection is not bad at all, with 100 million songs and the possibility of uploading your songs (as in the days of Google Play Music), and if you are already subscribed to YouTube Premium, the service is free. However, its weak point is that the audio quality is not the best, with the lowest quality being 256 kbps.
Price: $11 per month, included in YouTube Premium ($14 per month).
SoundCloud’s biggest asset is the massive amount of songs it has, with 400 million tracks. This is because, since its creation, SoundCloud started as a platform to support independent artists around the world, allowing users to upload their songs as well. A platform that is good for discovering independent artists, although its selection of mainstream songs is better than other platforms.
Price: $10.99 per month
For the most demanding music lovers (or those who claim their ears hear everything), Tidal is one of the options that offers the best music quality, with high fidelity and Dolby Atmos sound. With 110 million songs in its catalog and FLAC-quality music for greater compatibility, Tidal is one of the most expensive services on the list, but it offers the best quality.
Price: $11 per month.
One of the underdogs of the streaming services when it comes to the big ones. Nevertheless, it offers a large catalog of 120 million tracks and is the platform that makes it easier to share playlists from other services, so you do not lose what you have already curated. It also has HiFi lossless audio, as well as the ability to identify songs with SongCatcher and even view lyrics with translations. Its weakness is its cost, a dollar more than some of the other services.
Price: $11.99 per month.
An option for those who have an Amazon Prime subscription, as it is one of the many extras that come with the subscription of this service. This is an affordable service, but it offers good quality, with more than 100 million tracks and HD and Ultra HD audio. In addition, it has spatial audio with Dolby Atmos, making it a worthy contender.
Price: Free with Amazon Prime/Amazon Music Unlimited Individual; $10.99 for non-members.
The choice for iPhone users with the latest devices. Apple Music offers 90 million songs, with high-resolution lossless and spatial audio albums, as well as a very visual platform. As you might expect, this app has integration with iOS devices and Apple HomePod, allowing you to activate and request songs with your voice. There is an Android option, but it doesn’t work as well.
Price: $10.99 per month.
