The summer sun just got a little bit brighter for dance music fans.
After a seven-year hiatus, DJ, music producer and remixer Kaskade is reviving his outdoor music festival, Sun Soaked, and bringing it to Huntington State Beach on Sept. 6.
The dance music-focused event will feature performances by Meduza, Skilah, Sidepiece, Malaa, Anabel Englund, Walker & Royce, MPH, and more on the beach’s shores. Tickets for the one-day music festival headlined and created by Ryan Raddon, who goes by the moniker Kaskade, are on sale now at sunsoakedofficial.com.
“Sun Soaked is a shape-shifting project,” said Raddon in a press statement. “The first year we put it together with grit, sand, music, and a lot of tenacity. The second year, we went bigger – and it got better. Bringing it back to Southern California now after seven years is so exciting for me. I’m a beach guy, and I want my toes in the sand and the sun on my face while I do what I love. I’m hoping there are some people who want to share that with me.”
The fest is backed by Insomniac Events and will be showcasing some of the most prominent electronic artists in the scene. Guests can expect a blood-pumping set from Malaa, France’s masked DJ, and more melodic feels by Meduza. House fans will also be treated to two duos: Sidepiece and Walker & Royce, for their signature approaches to the genre. Anabel Englund will bring her dream-pop-like vocals while MPH and Skilah help meld their electronic sounds with hip-hop.
Raddon has made a name for himself in EDM, selling out massive arenas such as Chicago’s Navy Pier and Los Angeles’ Staples Center. He was the first DJ to receive a Las Vegas residency and the first electronic artist to headline the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, and he returned this year for a set at the Quasar stage. Last year, he also became the first-ever In-Game DJ at the Super Bowl, and in May, the first-ever starting grid DJ at a Formula 1 race in Miami.
Over his career, Kaskade has collaborated with several iconic artists such as Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Meghan Trainor to produce dance-pop anthems.
