Suede will release new album ‘Antidepressants’ on September 5th.
The band’s reunion arc contains some of the finest music of their career, a point hammered home by last year’s excellent joint tour with Manic Street Preachers. Suede went straight into the studio following the tour, and new material is incoming.
Out on September 5th, new album ‘Antidepressants’ represents a step beyond their prior work, embracing our modern darkness in the process.
In a note, Brett Anderson comments…
If ‘Autofiction’ was our punk record, ‘Antidepressants’ is our post-punk record. It’s about the tensions of modern life, the paranoia, the anxiety, the neurosis. We are all striving for connection in a disconnected world. This was the feel I wanted the songs to have. The album is called ‘Antidepressants’. This is broken music for broken people.
New single ‘Disintegrate’ is a barbed return, the band’s love-lorn romanticism left tattered on the rocks of our daily lives; backed by a monochrome video, it’s a stark but ultimately empathetic piece of songwriting.
Tune in now.
Alongside the album the bad will host the Suede Takeover – a special concert series over four nights hosted in different venues across London’s Southbank Centre throughout September 2025.
Taking place on September 13th, 14th, 17th, and 19th, tickets are on sale shortly. Brett Anderson comments: “Expect old songs, new songs, borrowed songs, blue songs, drama, melody, noise, sweat and a couple of surprises.”
