Deirdre Sweeney and Al Petty perform an extensive repertoire of 18th century dance music, as well as marches and laments, on flute, whistle, recorder and fife, gathered from manuscripts printed between the 17th and 19th centuries and arranged in counterpoint. They play regularly for colonial dancing as well as other occasions, and have long been active in related musical cultures, including American fife and drum and traditional Irish music.

The Sudbury Select Board established the Sudbury 250 Committee to plan for the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the commencement of the American Revolution. It is anticipated that many of the observances will take place in the early spring through late winter of 2025, although the Committee may plan later events, such as the July 4, 2026 observances.
