Spotlight: Chelsea Wolfe (USA) Returning to New Zealand – Undertheradar

Northern Californian queen of gothic folk-metal, Chelsea Wolfe‚s imminent return to Aotearoa New Zealand is as feverishly anticipated as when she first finally set foot on local stages in 2022 (an occasion nearly five years in the making). The genre-melting songwriter / multi-instrumentalist swoops back down under following the release of her critically hailed 2024 album She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She — written after Wolfe embraced sobriety and referring to "the past version of yourself connecting with the present version of yourself, connecting with the future version of yourself" — follow-up EPs Unbound and Undone reimagining tunes from that record, plus bombastic new collaborative single with recent visitors HEALTH.
Don’t dare miss the US cult icon playing songs from throughout her career with four-piece band at Pōneke’s new Meow Nui and Tāmaki Makaurau’s The Powerstation at the tail end of this month, with special guest from Naarm Aphir — all brought to you by Valhalla Touring…

Experience Chelsea Wolfe’s majestic ‚Whispers In The Echo Chamber‘, from her latest album She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She

Press release:
Three years after her sold out tour, the Queen of Darkness will bring her visceral, vivid live performance back to Wellington and Auckland.
Chelsea Wolfe will perform a career-spanning set on this tour, including songs from her new album “She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She” which was released in February.
Chelsea Wolfe’s latest album is a rebirth in process. It’s a powerfully cathartic statement about cutting ties, as well as an important reminder that healing is cyclical and circular, and not a simple linear process. Featuring elements of electronica, trip hop, industrial music and goth rock, it has been hailed as one of her finest works, with Clash proclaiming it her “most ambitious and carefully-constructed” and Kerrang suggesting it “may be the most creatively adventurous of her career.”
Her return in 2025 will mark 15 years since her debut ‘The Grime and The Glow’ was released, sparking a career that has influenced and inspired a dedicated cult following worldwide to appreciate life in both its darkness and light.
