Spotify is down: When will it be up, and why can’t you hear your music and podcasts – Diario AS

Spotify
If you are a Spotify user, you might be experiencing problems streaming music while you are exercising or commuting to work. You’re not the only one who’s having trouble hearing a new song or listening to your latest podcast, as all indications are that the service is down.
Spotify users have been reporting problems for the last hour today, April 16th, according to the Downdetector platform. The problems started around 8:00 am (ET) this morning but have increased over the past few hours. Below, you can see how service issues have been reported on the website Downdetector:
Spotify’s official Twitter/X account has not yet commented on the matter, and no statement has been issued, but that could be a good sign. Maybe they think that the connectivity issues will be fixed quickly and that it’s not even worth making a statement. For now, you can check their Outage Information and Troubleshooting page to see if there is a problem from your end or if it is more of a problem with the service itself.
Given the importance of the application to the entertainment world and the blow to Spotify’s image, the downtime should not last too long. It is likely to be a matter of minutes before they are back up and running, depending on the magnitude of the issue.
Although right now Spotify’s status page is also down, the Downdetector website, where users report issues and outages by operator, alert time zone, and geographic location, is one of the website you can go check for any updates on the service’s status. There, the current crash has already accumulated more than a thousand reports.
