CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The 2025 Southern Illinois Music Festival begins today and runs through June 8, featuring professional musicians, dancers and SIU faculty and students.
The festival, under the direction of SIU School of Music Emeritus Professor Edward Benyas, offers orchestral and chamber music, opera, jazz and educational programs.
The event promotes Southern Illinois’ cultural reputation nationally and has been recognized by Symphony magazine, AAA magazine and the Chicago Tribune.
