Smethwick High Street was awash with colour as the smell of delicious street food and sounds of traditional music filled the air, while thousands of people celebrated the Sikh religion.
Several businesses and faith groups joined in with the festivities and made the day special with delicious treats such as samosas and pakoras.
There were demonstrations by local martial arts groups on the main stage as well as a fun fair, religious readings and entertainment for the thousands of people that turned out to celebrate the spring festival.
