Music artists and fans look forward to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame classes every year. This year’s list for all categories was revealed last Sunday.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is something that everyone looks forward to as it is the most prestigious recognition for an artist or a band. The Class of 2025 for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has been officially announced and the list of inductees is long.
It includes The White Stripes, Chubby Checker, Soundgarden, Bad Company, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, and many others. The inductees were announced by Ryan Seacrest from ABC’s American Idol and it was declared on a Sunday Night. ABC’s parent company is Disney and it has complete rights over the event.
There were various categories for the Rock Hall class where Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon were honored with the Musical Influence award for their precious contributions. On the other hand, there are Carol Kaye, Nicky Hopkins, and Thom Bell who received the Musical Excellence Award.
There is another award called the Ahmet Ertegun Award which was received by Lenny Waronker. He is well revered as the president of Warner Records and his best performance as a producer and executive.
The induction of the event is all set to take place at the Peacock Theater on November 8 this year. The event will be streamed on Disney+ on the same night. Later on, it will be aired on ABC. The fourth time induction will be taking place in Los Angeles.
The Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, John Sykes explained in a statement, “Each of these inductees created their own sound and attitude that had a profound impact on culture and helped to change the course of Rock & Roll forever.” He further added, “Their music gave a voice to generations and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps.”
There were many nominees who did not make the cut this year and that list includes, Joy Division/New Order, The Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Maná, Oasis, Billy Idol, and Phish. Most of these artists are nominated for the first time in the list of inductees while some are included in 2023 and 2024.
Music artists can become eligible for the prestigious Hall of Fame after 25 years of their first music release and that is why most of the artists are getting part of the list for the first time. Checker has been waiting on the list for the longest time as their first music release was back in the 1960s.
