Rival Consoles Shares New Single ‘Known Shape’ – clashmusic.com

Rival Consoles has shared new single ‘Known Shape’.
The electronic composer has sat at the forefront of modern music for over a decade now, building an extraordinary catalogue in the process.
New album ‘Landscape From Memory’ is out on July 4th, with a special pre-release tour taking place this Spring, including shows in London, Glasgow, Leeds and Dublin.
New single ‘Known Shape’ epitomises what Rival Consoles refers to as the “strange beauty” on the album, merging past, present, and future “in a very strong way”.
There’s a glimpse of the uncanny in ‘Known Shape’, with Rival Consoles blurring the line between man and machine, between organic and digital.
He comments…
I’ve always been obsessed by controls on machines because they produce beautiful sounds and they have their own rhythms. The drums are made from rotating switches and the synths are set in motion by invisible mechanical rhythms. Machines have a special connection to the human spirit, which is both good and bad but above all restless. There is a constant searching in ‘Known Shape’ for some kind of answer or emotion.”
Tune in now.
