Pop star Olly Murs stunned fans last night as he walked off stage in Glasgow after just 20 minutes. The 'Troublemaker' singer left the stage after just six songs at the city's Ovo Hydra arena, telling the crowd he was struggling with his voice.
Murs was ready to wow the crowd with his chart-topping hits as part of his 2025 Arena Tour with special guests Blue when he made an announcement after just five tracks.
As The Mirror reports, Olly told his fans: "My voice has gone." He had performed Kiss Me Like You Mean It when he made the announcement.
He said: "This has never happened to me before but you can hear my voice is going. I want to give you the concert you deserve so I can't go on."
He then told the crowd: "I'm going to come back, but I need to go now."
Following this, the arena was left in silence, the lights went up and baffled fans left the arena.
In a video on social media after the concert, Murs offered fans an apology "from the bottom of my heart".
Filming a video to camera, he said: "Glasgow, I am so sorry tonight. So sorry that I had to walk off after six songs and cancel the show.
"I have never done this in 15 years. Most of the time, as singers, you can kind of get through it if your voice isn't 100 percent but I walked out tonight thinking my voice was great.
"I maybe felt a little bit rundown but I didn't think I couldn't do the show because I wouldn't have come out there otherwise. So, to walk off after six songs, I am so sorry. 15 years I have never done this."
He added: "As you can hear from my voice, I was sounding rubbish and it is unfair for you guys to spent all that money to come and see me. You deserve the best show and me being at my best. I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart."
In a subsequent video he said he was seeing a doctor after the show and would give fans an update as soon as he could.
"Obviously I'm going to try my absolute best to make these shows possible at the weekend, so sorry for everyone tonight, apologies from the bottom of my heart, gutted," he added.
The cancellation marks the second time the singer has pulled out of a show in the city. Last year he cancelled a show at Glasgow's Hydro arena as he pulled out of supporting Take That minutes before doors opened.
It is not yet clear whether Olly will be able to play the remainder of his tour. He is due to play a second Manchester date tonight (May 23) at Manchester's AO Arena following a show earlier this month at Co-op Live.
He is also scheduled to play Birmingham's bp Pulse Live on Saturday and the O2 in London on Sunday.
Olly first caught the nation's attention with his audition on X Factor in 2010, when he charmed the audience with Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition' in the show's sixth series.
