Oasis fans flocking to Heaton Park to see the Gallagher brothers on stage together for the first time in 16 years have now been issued with some important travel advice.
Last summer, Liam and Noel announced they would be joining forces once again for a string of huge Oasis reunion shows this year. The tour will kick off in Cardiff on July 4 and 5 before heading over to Manchester for four huge homecoming shows.
The boys will perform at Heaton Park between July 11 and 20 and will be joined with support from fellow music legends Richard Ashcroft and Cast. Naturally, the shows sold out within minutes with thousands of fans lucky enough to nab tickets.
Earlier today, organisers for the four Manchester shows issued instructions for fans attending the gigs with separate entry gates depending on tickets to ensure fan safety.
With Heaton Park having a capacity for around 80,000 people, there has also been new travel advice issued about how fans can safely make their way to and from the venue – including dedicated shuttlebuses, coach services and a walking route.
There will be no official car parks for the gigs and fans have specifically been told ‘do not come by car’. With this in mind, we have outlined how you can get a coach or bus, or walk, to Heaton Park for the Oasis shows.
There will be a number of return coach journeys which will arrive directly into Heaton Park ahead of the shows. These will be operated by Big Green Coach and will be available at a number of stops across the country, including Wigan and Preston.
The coaches will be able to pick-up fans at the following locations: Accrington, Barnsley, Birkenhead, Birmingham, Blackburn, Blackpool, Bradford, Burton on Trent, Castleford, Chester, Chesterfield, Cleethorpes, Congleton, Coventry, Crewe, Derby, Doncaster, Grimsby, Huddersfield, Lancaster, Leeds, Leicester, Leigh, Lichfield, Liverpool, London Victoria, Macclesfield, Middlesbrough, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Preston, Sandbach, Scunthorpe, Sheffield, St Helens, Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent, Sunderland, Sutton Coldfield, Thorne, Warrington, Wigan, Wolverhampton, Wrexham and York.
Tickets will range in price based on pick-up points, with the likes of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Middlesbrough both costing £62 each for a return journey. Trips from Wigan will cost £38.
There are a number of pre-payment options available to ensure fans secure their seats early, and these are available via the order page on Big Green Coach here.
If living locally or staying in Manchester for the shows, there will also be a number of specific shuttlebus services taking fans to and from Heaton Park.
Buses will depart from the Northern Quarter and will then drop-off within Heaton Park’s dedicated bus depot. With a bus wristband, fans will then be able to get a return bus back to the Northern Quarter after the gig.
Fans have been advised that, due to demand, the queue system may take a while to navigate to the end but the journey will be ‘hassle free’ once on board the bus.
Tickets must be bought in advance ahead of time, with early bird offers starting from £10 for a return. You can book a shuttle bus ticket via TfGM here.
There will be a signposted walking route taking fans from Exchange Square, Victoria Station and the AO Arena right up to Heaton Park. It will be a straight road that is well-lit and well-populated.
It will take around 50 minutes to walk the length of the route, but it may take longer at the end of the night.
Along the way, there will be a number of service routes with food and drink stalls, as well as rest areas.
