Korean-American artist NoSo will release their second album ‘When Are You Leaving?’ on October 10th via Partisan Records.
Following the dreamy reveries on debut full-length ‘Stay Proud Of Me’, released in 2022, ‘When Are You Leaving?’ is rooted firmly in the thrill and tumult of NoSo’s real-life experiences. Across groove-laden production, jagged guitars, and spacious ballads, they reflect on “fractured relationships, platonic heartbreak, and the complexity of perception.”
NoSo, real name: Baek Hwong, says: “My first album mostly comprised of daydreaming about what my life could be like if I embraced my identity. This record is firmly rooted in reality and details my enlightening and tumultuous experiences head on.”
Ahead of the LP release, NoSo shares the disco-infused primer, ‘Sugar’. Co-produced with Wild Nothing’s Jack Tatum, the bright, anthemic production belies the bittersweet, emotionally-loaded storytelling – the weariness that comes with navigating interpersonal dynamics with volatile people.
Hwong explains: “‘Sugar’ is about the delicate dance of interacting with volatile, unwell individuals. It’s a reflection on those experiences, aiming to approach them with sympathy instead of anger. I’ve learned that this is the only way I can move forward, by not feeding those memories and giving them power.”
NoSo will perform at Gunnersbury Park in London on August 15th with the likes of Khruangbin and TV on the Radio, and will return to Europe in 2026 for a series of headline shows, including a London show at Islington Assembly Hall next February. Tickets for the Gunnersbury Park gig are on sale here and tour tickets are on sale from Noso’s website on May 21st.
