It looks like this year’s return to active duty for iconic industrial metallers Nine Inch Nails will include a new festival dubbed ‘Future Ruins‘. A teaser page has just been launched via futureruins.com, however, as of press time it appears to be riddled with some unintentional coding errors related to code seemingly pulled from an unrelated past Stray Kids tour project.
CSS errors or not, there’s some seemingly telltale signs to be found on the site, including the mention of Live Nation promoting the upcoming event, the Instagram handle being ‘futureruinsfestival,’ and the unconventional inclusion of a Letterboxd profile, which lists itself as being based in Los Angeles, CA. The latter is a social platform of sorts popular with film.
As Nine Inch Nails‘ core duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are celebrated composers with numerous prestigious awards to their credit for scoring various films and TV series, it would appear this upcoming fest will be related to their musical pursuits in the visual arts. On top of all that, the festival’s tagline is “The music tells the story.” You won’t have to wait long to find out what it all means however, as the reveal is set to take place tomorrow, May 14th.
The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-inducted outfit will be back in action later this year though, having confirmed the below run of shows with Boys Noize under the banner of the ‘Peel It Back World Tour‘. Long-awaited new music from the band is also set to materialize, as Nine Inch Nails have taken on scoring the upcoming next instalment in the ‘Tron‘ film franchise, ‘Tron: Ares‘, which is expected to premiere later in the year.
